Split-Fire’s 4290 gas log splitter is powered by the powerful Honda GX270 Engine which is proven in heavy-duty applications and features a quieter performance, lower fuel consumption, and lower emissions than previous versions. The 4290 is designed to endlessly split through the largest and gnarliest of rounds – it can easily handle splitting 48” diameter logs within an 11 – 13 second cycle time with its’ 32 tonnes of splitting force that’s delivered via our unique and most efficient forward-and-reverse stroke knife, pushed by an internally mounted and protected 4 ½” cylinder. With the cylinder mounted on the inside of the frame the rigidity of the equipment is increased to counteract frame twisting (and the resulting loss of splitting force).
